Esthetics Program Clock & Credit Hours

The Esthetician Program is a 22-credit-hour, 660-clock-hour program. Health Works Institute defines a credit hour as 30 hours of class time, which may be spent in any combination of learning activities, including lecture, discussion, demonstration, clinical practice, etc., all of which are supervised by a fully qualified instructor.

As set forth in the following chart, the state board articulates its program requirements in terms of clock hours and requires that a minimum of 65 clock hours be spent on theory, as opposed to practice.  The institute’s curriculum significantly exceeds the minimum of 65 hours of theory, because we have a commitment to a high quality program that provides students with the information they will need for long-term success in the field of esthetics.
